Working Together to Make A Difference

Since its’ inception, The Foundation has given more than $668,000 to local charitable organizations.

Our Company

Our company was formed in 1972 by Howard Perry, an established builder, and Don Walston, a real estate entrepreneur. Today, with over 800 real estate professionals, 13 sales offices, the Triangle’s number one new homes division, a mortgage company, title company, an award winning relocation division, an REO Division, a growing Concierge home services division and the area’s number one real estate school, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston is the Triangle’s leading full-service residential real estate company and one of the leading realty firms in the nation. We are proud to be locally owned and operated and are committed to serving the real estate and home ownership needs of our community by putting our customers first.

Making our Mark

Through the years, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston has continued to raise the bar for supporting those in need. In the late 1990’s, the HPW Foundation was established to create opportunities for employees and sales associates to support charitable and non-profit organizations in their local communities. In turn, the company provides matching funds, allowing individual contributions to make an even greater impact.

The HPW Foundation supports various not-for-profit organizations to benefit countless individuals throughout the Triangle and Central North Carolina. Since its’ inception, the group has given more than $668,000 to local charitable organizations. The HPW Foundation recipients have included Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, NC Triangle Affiliate, The Frankie Lemmon Foundation, Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina, local arts councils, area rescue missions, Me Fine Foundation, Second Chance Pet Adoptions and Special Olympics North Carolina.

Emergency Relief

In addition to charitable and non-profit organizations, the HPW Foundation makes donations as needs occur.  Funds have been contributed to assist families affected by devastation from natural disasters, including excessive hurricane and flood damage.  In 2005, the HPW Foundation gave over $100,000 to assist with the Hurricanes Katrina Relief effort.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity develops partnerships to build healthy, affordable homes with and for people in need, promotes self-reliance through homeownership, affirms the dignity of the family, and creates sustainable communities. Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston raised over $145,000 for our Habitat for Humanity campaign, exceeding our goal of $114,000 to build three houses- one in Wake, Durham and Orange Counties. Since the original goal was exceeded, we are proud to have been able to donate funds for a fourth Habitat for Humanity project in Alamance County. Habitat for Humanity Website

“Your donation will be used to build homes that foster self-reliance through home ownership and create sustainable communities. We hope you will continue to support our cause, knowing that your dollars not only build homes, but also improve the lives of families and communities for many generations to come.”

Me Fine Foundation

Me Fine Foundation

The Me Fine Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance for children and families at the Duke Children’s Hospital and the North Carolina Children’s Hospital at UNC. The foundation was founded by friends and family of Folden Lee, IV, who was diagnosed with AML Leukemia in May of 2003. During his 15-month battle with this disease, Folden’s family found that along with the tremendous stress of caring for a child with a life-threatening illness, most families struggle with overwhelming medical costs as well as personal outpatient housing and living expenses while their child is undergoing treatment. The Me Fine Foundation is dedicated to relieving these families of this added stress as they face these life-changing challenges.

"Our partnership with Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston and their employees and associates, will make it possible for families with critically-ill children being treated at both Duke & UNC Children’s Hospitals to focus on the real job at hand… helping their children recover." Lisa Valentino
Director of Development
Me Fine Foundation, Inc.
